Its beautiful landscapes, extensive deep-green fields, cattle and farms characterize Polloc, a town near Cajamarca, in the Andes Mountains. It is where the Sanctuary of Our Lady of the Rosary is located. An Italian mission, which places emphasis on education and teaches crafts to the poor, is building this beautiful site using materials brought from the old continent. The mosaic artwork of the Shrine is done with the participation of the children and youngsters of the town, who study in the Don Bosco School of Art, where they learn to decorate the walls, columns, ceilings and floors of this Shrine.
