Although to date there is no certainty about the name of the architect of St. Basil's Cathedral on the Red Square in Moscow, there are several sad legends about his fate. According to one of them, when Ivan the Terrible saw the Cathedral, he was so amazed by its beauty that he ordered its architect to be blinded so he could not repeat his impressive work anywhere else.
